Remote Controls
We could almost devote a whole website to Remote Controls and the issues around them! Airwave Healthcare has a variety of solutions designed to alleviate problems that have been presented to us by Trusts and Hospitals many of which are both innovative and unique.
Here we pass on the ‘knowledge’, we hope you find these solutions as useful as many of our other Healthcare customers.
Anchoring Solutions
Retractable cable to secure remote controls, fix to wall or table or as shown, to bed head trunking. Useful at the bed/chair side to prevent remotes being bundled up with laundry and to deter theft.
Non Electrical Polyurethane Coil can be extended to up to 4m from the fixing point. As it is NOT wired, ligature risk is minimal and the coiled cable can be easily stretched to clean, springing back to original state afterwards.
Where multi bedded remote set up has been implemented it is crucial that the correct remote control remains with the corresponding TV.
Coiled cables can be fitted to any remote control either by yourself or by Airwave Installation team.
Useful Perspex remote control holders have been designed for use with or without the coiled cables and can be fixed almost anywhere.

Smoovies
Single use, disposable remotes supplied in a number of ‘active day’ versions.
These are often used to manage a PAY TV system but equally sought after where Infection Control departments prefer a new remote to be issued for every patient. They can be used to control FREE TV systems but only with certain Philips TV models.
Bespoke remotes
Hospital remotes always go missing, either because they get lost in the laundry or pilfering. The answer for many hospitals is either to pay for an expensive manufacturer's replacement remote, or get the cheapest universal remote, both of which are prone again to theft.
Airwave launches the Ultimate Hospital Remote
Airwave has now developed an inexpensive solution - a robust, simple to use remote, which works with all the main branded hotel TVs such as Philips, LG, Samsung, Sharp, Sony, Panasonic and Toshiba. The remote also has a battery cover screw to prevent battery loss, as well as the optional message “This hotel remote will not work at home”. The remote can also be branded with the hospital or Trust logo on request.
Clean Remote
An inexpensive alternative remote with a host of benefits and features, worth considering where multi bedded set up is not deployed. This remote is not compatible with all TV’s and IPTV systems, please check with Airwave before purchasing.
