Headphones

Patients can be encouraged to use their own headphones, those provided with Ipods, mobile phones and CD players are all suitable.

Headphones

Alternatively single use or recyclable, inexpensive headphones can be purchased from Airwave by the Hospital to give or sell to patients. Shops, cafe’s, news trolleys and vending machines throughout the Hospital are some of the other outlets where headphones can be stocked and sold.

Consider the distance from audio socket to the user when selecting headphones. In some cases where the bed is positioned away from the wall (bumpers in place), when motorised beds are in the ‘seated’ position, where patients are encouraged to get out of bed and use the chair whilst watching TV or when there is a lot of medical equipment (such as in renal and chemotherapy suites) there is a need for extended length headphone cables. We stock headphones with 1.8 m cables as well as standard shorter length sets for use where the TV is closer to the user.

Examples are shown above, but please contact us for prices and ordering information on all types of accessories.
